The “UMIAMI R&D Industrial Scale-Up” project marks a pivotal milestone in our company’s development. After two years of intensive research and development, the opening of a 14,000 m² factory in the Grand Est region, and the launch of our product in Europe and the United States, this project represents a strategic turning point for our growth.
This project benefits from exclusive funding by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). This essential financial tool of the European Union, designed to reduce regional disparities and support innovation, has enabled us to solidify our industrial ambitions. The Grand Est Region also played a key role in facilitating the allocation of ERDF funds.
With a total cost of €4,210,210.43, the ERDF contributed €1,473,573.65, allowing us to achieve several critical milestones. In 2023, we successfully designed the technical specifications of our industrial process, set up our new production line, and initiated the first manufacturing operations.
In 2024, our efforts focused on optimizing the performance of this production line to reach the targeted productivity level.
This project highlights the importance of European funding in promoting innovation and supporting industrialization. Thanks to the support of the ERDF and the Grand Est Region, Umiami SAS which does business as SWAP Food, continues to pursue its ambition of becoming a key player in its sector while enhancing its competitiveness in international markets.
Supported by the French government through the "France 2030" plan, along with leading investors and banks, SWAP Food by Umiami reaffirms its commitment to reindustrializing the region and creating local jobs.
